Volunteering
Why?
Volunteering at the ACHD is an excellent opportunity to develop new skills as a result of interacting with museum, archive, and arts professionals. You can also create fruitful cooperation with ACHD staff and other volunteers. We share our passion for culture, the desire to be actively involved in university life, and the interest in personal and professional development. In addition, the volunteering certificate issued by BBU would be an asset to your CV!
What does it mean?
Adopted in 2015, the Regulations of the “Volunteering at BBU” program establish the legal conditions for volunteering activities at our university. Volunteers can participate in the organization of exhibitions, workshops, guided tours, events such as the Night of Museums and other cultural events, archival digitization projects, and database creation. To date, the ACHD has benefited from the contribution of many volunteers in the three major areas (museums, archive, and arts).
Where?
We enjoy the presence of our volunteers at all entities coordinated by the ACHD. Occasionally, ACHD volunteers may also conduct activities on other university premises or partner institutions, depending on ongoing projects and cooperations. For exact details on the locations of the museums, the Historical Archive, and the art galleries of the ACHD, please consult their respective pages on our website.
When?
Volunteering activities can take place throughout the entire academic year, depending on the needs of the ACHD sub-units and each volunteer’s availability and interest. According to the Regulation in force, the work time dedicated to volunteering activities may range from 10 to 80 hours per month, based on an individual contract concluded for this purpose.
Cooperation
Why?
We invite you to join us in our mission of providing great experiences to the public. By becoming a partner of BBU through the ACHD, you will benefit from increased visibility and well-deserved recognition amongst the students attending our university and the Cluj community in general.
What does it mean?
We are open to cooperation with institutions or individuals intending to organize temporary exhibitions, thematic competitions, or artistic workshops. We can also offer advice or support for other activities and projects according to the specificities of each ACHD sub-unit.
Where?
By prior arrangement, the exhibition venues coordinated by the ACHD (Paul Sima Gallery, Liviu Vlad Hall, and UBB Art Hall) and several premises in the BBU museums can be venues for cultural activities organized in partnership. We are flexible and want the BBU heritage to be known and promoted according to its value!
When?
Cooperations can be carried out based on a partnership agreement (where appropriate, an exhibition service contract), concluded at any time of the year, depending on availability and interest. The annual calendar of the ACHD is rich in events, and most of them are concentrated in the periods corresponding to the academic semesters. For optimal cooperation, we invite you to send us your partnership proposals at least three months before the date you wish to organize an event.
Internship
Why?
Performing an internship at the ACHD is a unique opportunity to acquire, consolidate, and apply a wide range of knowledge regarding natural sciences, history, archives, or art, depending on the field of your faculty. You will have the chance to work with dedicated professionals who will share their experiences about best practices in the field of university cultural heritage.
What does it mean?
The internship is carried out under the BBU Regulations in force and the various specific requirements of the faculties. In agreement with the teaching staff in charge of the internship, we will establish topics close to the respective subjects for which the ACHD sub-units can provide relevant materials and activities.
Where?
All ACHD sub-units offer interested students the possibility to carry out specialized internships corresponding to the faculty profile they attend. The most frequent cooperations concerning internships are initiated with the Faculty of History and Philosophy and the Faculty of Biology and Geology.
When?
Specialized internships may be conducted during the period foreseen in the academic year syllabus, following the general regulations of BBU and the specifications established by each faculty through its specializations.
